Jill Stanford Reeves - Owner/Director The Jill Stanford Dance Center is proud to announce 25 years of excellence in dance education. The school, which opened its doors in 1980, has grown to be the largest and most diversified studio in the area. Ms. Reeves is a regular guest artist for various seminars throughout the Southeast and leading artists from the dance world have recognized her choreography and professional abilities.
In New York, she studied with Phil Black, the Joffrey School of Ballet, and the Harkness School of Ballet. She studied intensively with Charles Kelley, Frank Hatchett, Gus Giordano, and Luigi. Her students have won many titles both regionally and nationally, and have also received scholarships to schools all over the United States. Her students have danced for Disney, Busch Gardens, and on national television. In New York, her students have performed at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and in Hawaii they performed at the Jeep-Eagle Aloha Bowl.
Jill holds a Masters Degree in Ballet and Musical Theatre Arts. She is an active member of Dance Educators of America and the Professional Dance Teachers Association. Jill is the founder and Artistic Director of Southern Dance Theatre.
Tracy Burgstiner - Instructor Tracy Burgstiner has been dancing at Jill Stanford Dance Center since she was two years old. During her childhood, Tracy was pert of an award-winning dance group. As part of this group, she was chosen from hundreds of dancers to dance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City in 1990 representing the All American Dance and Cheer Association. Then in 1992, she was chosen to participate in the half-time show in the Aloha Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii. Tracy was also chosen to be a Caravan Kid. After graduating from Brunswick High School in 1997, she traveled to New York City again to train with Dance Educators of America, which she received a degree from in 1999.
Over the past 10 years Tracy has taught a variety of classes to hundreds of students at Jill Stanford Dance Center. She believes in working hard and having fun and tries to instill that belief in her students. Tracy's hard work and dedication to her students has led to many awards and recognitions at the regional and national level. Her dances have won many overall awards, best choreography, and most entertaining. Her students have been awarded scholarships and chosen for Dance Caravan.
Tracy's heart lies at Jill Stanford Dance Center and she looks forward to many years filled with using her love of dance to teach many other students
Cori Jernigan - Instructor Cori Jernigan began her dance career at the age of 2 with Miss
Jill as her teacher. This August, Cori returns to the Jill Stanford Dance Center to join the teaching staff. During the 16 years that Cori danced with Miss Jill, she was a member of the competition teams that won many awards. Some highlights include:
• Performing in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
• Performing in the Aloha Bowl on Christmas Day in Hawaii
• Being chosen by Dance Caravan as a Caravan Kid to travel, study, and perform across the
United States.
• Winning a Talent Scholarship while representing the Golden Isles as Brunswick's Junior
Miss at the state level Georgia's Junior Miss program
• Being selected as the recipient of The Arts and Humanities Scholarship, awarded by the
Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association
• Serving as choreographer for the BHS Production Company
• Serving as Captain and choreographer during her 4 years as a BHS cheerleader.
Cori graduated from Georgia Southern University with a B.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education. While in college, Cori returned to New York City during the summers to study with Dance Educators of America.
She is a graduate of Dance Educators of America Training School for teachers and is certified to teach Ballet and Musical Theatre Arts.
Lindsay Lynch has taught all levels and styles of dance including modern and contemporary dance in studios located in Orlando, Jacksonville, and New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
She has choreographed contemporary pieces that have been performed and showcased throughout Florida at various conventions, shows, and seminars.
Lindsay is a former student of the Valencia Community College and recent graduate with honors from Jacksonville University where she received a performing arts degree in choreography and dance performance.
